the best is if they ask you to do a questionnaire, go with it and do the questionnaire (giving stupid answers obvs) up until about 2 questions from the end then just hang up... they cant use the data as it's incomplete and you have wasted their time

either that, or pretend to be one of your family tell them that you've died and that you find it offensive that you keep getting phonecalls

I get people calling me at work to sell me everything from xerox toner, light bulbs, to cleaning services

I just tell them that "we have just resigned a contract with our toner supplier"

but the toner people are shady..

they pretend they are with my company and say "I'm from corporate and I'm calling to see if you need any toner"

if you keep talking to them they try to trick you and next thing you know it you have agreed to $500 in toner cartridges

but our xerox orders that shit itself when it gets low
