The built in ableton plug ins are some of the best out there. No need to go wandering unless theres something specific you need that you can't seem to make with ableton.

You should probably just pick a synth and focus on learning how to recreate the sounds you hear in your head with it. Massive is MORE then capable of providing MULTIPLE ways of creating ANY sound. Though there are limited capability, specialized vsts out there on the market, they are going to be childish knockups of some of the most simple features massive will have to offer.

Unless the task at hand is to simple to demand massive, like a white noise sweep or something silly, a thorough understanding of all of Massives functions will be more versatile then a terabyte of vsts.

Do alot of research on what synth is going to provide the most sensible workflow for your eyes, and then learn it. This is a bit like kids who wanna change daws more often then underwear. Its senseless. Different workflows. Same Results.

This was helpful, thank you. Massive sounds good to me.

Yes, I agree, helpful guys. I have been using massive for about 3 weeks now, and I've been thinking maybe I should take a look at some other ones. Now I realize how dope massive actually is. its crazy how many parameters you can change with an LFO
