Im always on the look out for new hip-hop tracks to put on compilations to listen to in the car when on a road trip so just thought I would start this thread to share a few favourites and ask my fellow forum heads for recommendations so if anyone has any suggestions feel free to post:
To start things off the first track is produced by Black Milk:
Akbar - Big Bang Boogie
Artifacts - Thats Them
The Roots - illadelph halflife (wrong spelling!)
Mood - Doom
Some overlooked brilliant LP's that play as LP's. Black Milk is a great shout. Only really copped the first LP. Heard lots of good things about the rest of them.
I also did a mix not so long ago covering some of the above:
this
el-p fantastic damage
cannibal ox - the cold vein
wu tang - 36 chambers
talib and mos - blackstar
anticon presents: music for the advancement of hip hop
Oliver Hart - The Many Faces Of Oliver Hart, Or: How Eye Won The Write Too Think (aka eyedea)
liquid swords
soo many
lorn is most recent i'd call hip hop that i'm loving even minus lyricists
