“Having listened to previous Electronic Explorations podcasts we thought it was appropriate to play some of our more
unknown tracks alongside some new material sent to us from new artists. Many of the tracks featured in the mix are due for
release on DecaRhythm and other labels in the near future – Hope you enjoy”

DecaRhythm represents a collective of musical like-minds; Bloodman, Bristol stalwart Orphan 101 and dubstep/juke
pioneer Headhunter.

After critically acclaimed first release, a Headhunter-Orphan 101 collaboration garnering support
from figures as diverse as Mary Anne Hobbs, Laurent Garnier, Appleblim and Youngsta;

Bristol-based collective DecaRhythm is bringing two new, talented artists into the light with two strong releases in September 2010:

Bloodman a: Remote Viewing b: Depp Fish
Arkist a: What do I See b. Out of the Sun

DecaRhythm Digital is set to launch this October with Orphan 101’s seminal Under the Radar & Human Age available
exclusively on beatport.com

Today’s dubstep scene is thriving thanks to labels such as Applepips, Tectonic, Punch Drunk and more. However, back in 2009, we, Orphan 101, Bloodman and Headhunter, felt there was a need for a label which could open doors to new forms of experimental music, mixtures of Dubstep, Techno and Electronica.

There’s a lot out there that needs to be discovered and shared with the public, and as Deca Rhythm, that’s what we do: spreading music which is on a all different level, a level of uniqueness, and experimentation, sounds from nowhere and everywhere, music that will withstand the test of time. Deca Rhythm is a platform not only for our own music but also artists whose sound is in line with our concept of music.

====
Headhunter

Headhunter is a prominent figure on the international dubstep scene as the success of his 2008 album “Nomad” on the esteemed Tempa label has proven. Headhunter’s sound has evolved at a quick pace since his debuts, absorbing influences and mutating incrementally. His style could be described as a unique hybrid sound, a sort of technoid dubstep that Headhunter has perfected over the years.

“One of Bristol’s shining stars of dubstep: experimental yet firmly rooted on the dancefloor, a sublime mixture of dub infused techno and dubstep.”
Maryanne Hobbs – radio 1 Dj
“It’s refreshing to hear a producer shy away from the one-dimensional drop structure that has come to dominate dubstep floors.”

Orphan101

Hailing from the city of Bristol Orphan101 has been making a name for himself as a versatile producer, bringing alternative sounds and distinct textures into his productions. Whether 2 step or more techno-based four-four rhythms, Orphan has already carved out a unique signature sound. With releases scheduled for Saigon, Applepips and DECA Rhythm in 2010, Orphan’s release schedule is looking very promising.

Expect to hear collaborations with the likes of Headhunter, Bloodman, Beezy, Dread and Shadz to name but a few.

====

Bloodman

A long history of producing and refining his sound has led Bloodman to collaborate with Orphan 101 and Headhunter on the Deca Rhythm project. He first got hooked on electronic music through Jungle and tunes like “Dead Dread” and “Terrorist”. From there he started making drum n bass and perfected his techniques at uni, along with now close friends, Gatekeeper, Wedge, and Appleblim.

Since 2007, Bloodman’s been focusing on Dubstep though his love for all types of music has enabled him to draw many influences into his sound which could be described as melodic, deep, dark and epic.
His recent tunes have been received especially well by the crowds and fellow artists, these include “Deep Fish” and “Remote Viewing” which have just been released on DecaRhythm (vinyl now-mp3 very soon)

Forthcoming Releases:

====

Arkist

Arkist hasn’t been on the scene for long but is already making waves. Appleblim is one of his major inspirations and Komonazmuk and Gatekeeper have been close by for technical tips, The result of this fellowship matched with Arkist’s own individual talent has led him to create outstanding pieces.
His attitude towards both producing and Djing is fresh and defies boundaries between genres, combining Dubstep, Techno and drum and bass.

Forthcoming releases:
04/10/2010:
What do I see / Out of the Sun

====

Dread MC

A true MC and one of the most talented on the dustep and dnb scene, Dread uses his lyrics and controlled flow to bring the right vibe to the party. In recent years he has been working hard making his name known, performing at clubs and festivals across the UK and abroad.
In 2010 Dread is focused on recording and expanding his network of producers, he’s already featured on tracks by Redlight, Skream, Benga, Gatekeeper and Pinch and

is now working on his forthcoming EP with the Deca Rhythm producers.
His busy schedule includes performances at his resident nights; “Subloaded”, “Dub Police”, “Bedlam”, “Bass Laced” and guesting at plenty more, check out his myspace for listings!
