Hey guys, wasn't too sure where to post this but figure this is always a good place to start. Basically what I'm looking for is a few tips & tricks with regards to starting up a blog. The idea has spawned as I'm a journalist hopeful and have been advised that starting up a blog is an excellent way to build up both a portfolio of work as well as helping me to gain experience in journalist style writing. My idea is pretty simple, I want to set up a blog showcasing up and coming talent in the dubstep world and try show listeners & fans the wide variety of sounds us dubsteppers are making. So my question is really, are there any experienced bloggers out there that can give a few helpful hints and insights in to setting up blogs, organising interviews with artists, how to promote, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm really keen to get this ball rolling and hopefully achieve a bit of success and provide some nice, fresh and interesting info for the dubstep world.
Cheers,
GRAYSKALE.

just a little bump for the peeps, again any info is better than none so please don't hesitate to share any info, ideas and what you'd like to see and hear on a blog.

Re: Blogging 101!?
just get hustling basically. write regularly, and consistently. scour the net for things to write about, draw attention to, and for a while, spam the arse off your facebook friends, local forums etc. then, go round every blog you can find in your style and see if they want a link swap. as for interviews, start small and hit up some local artists for interviews and mixes. but also, go down to gigs and see if you can't score a quick 5-min interview with one of the dj's playing. most don't mind....
Re: Blogging 101!?
Cheers for the info bro, yeah I've been spammin' a couple of the big shots round here for some interviews round here and there's a bit of interest which is good news. Thanks for the advice dude, any more info on the technical side of things, ie, webspace and stuff would also be helpful if anyone can offer any.
Much appreciated,

Also thought I'd just mention that if there are any artists out there looking for a bit of promotion I'll be looking regularly for demo's, e.p's and albums etc to review as well as looking for interviews from lesser known artists. If you think you've got talent and can't find the promotion you need then another aim of the blog is to get your name out there. Again the idea is in the concept stages, but, with the right promotion I'll make this thing happen.
Cheers again,
