Hey guys, I just bought Reason 4 and scrapped FL, and I am extremely happy about it. I want to express my pleasure!

First of all, once you have got the hang of the interface, it is alot more user-friendly than FL, and another good thing is that it isn't hugely confusing when you've just bonged a half of weed

My first track in reason was ALOT better than any of the tracks I mde in FL, and the wierd thing is, I am applying the exact same techniques that I did in FL..

I still have alot to learn though, ive been experimenting with it and found some really sick shit!

I would reccomend reason over Fl any day, purely because it doesn't induce a creative block on me and allows me to freely express my musical ideas!

thats cool you found a program that works for you, alot of people will stand up for FL especially vs Reason but like i said it all about finding programs that work for you. once youve mastered reason you may get curious about other programs and have a similar thing happen finding something else fits your needs at that point....its all about trying as many as you can and finding what fits you at that time.

who sold you a version of Reason 4? a shop?
have a look to see if you can get a free upgrade to Reason 5.

I couldn't get reason 5, because I bought it on the propellerheads web shop, and I had to download it!
I have mobile broadband so i have a 5gb download limit, and the Reason 5 installer is like 8gb. so the amount of money i would have to pay to Vodafone for going over the limit is more than the upgrade from 4 to 5.. I hope I explained that well. And the reason 4 install was much smaller, and it still took 2 days to dl

i got Record for Reason owners in july and i'm entitled to a free Reason 5 upgrade that comes on a disc. i don't know why their not sending it to you in the post.

is that a big deal for you? i've never even thought about having to resize the rack, why would you need that?

would it not be worth paying the extra so you could of got the latest version and got a boxed version? apparently there are some sick new things on reason5, not that i use it

Its not that big of a deal.. If you have decent resolution (1920x1080) it won't matter.

are you trying to make it bigger or smaller?

bigger. when im working in a daw i like to have the program full screen. more power to you if you can work like that!

I used to hate that shit. Now it doesn't bother me. I've got two monitors running in dual-screen. If they're in duplicate mode, I put the rack on the left, detatch the sequencer and have it take up the rest of the screen.
If its in extended mode, I have the sequencer on one whole screen, the rack at the edge of the other monitor, and my pr0ns to the side of that.

Best thing about Reason is the sounds you can produce out that badboy. Been using Ableton for the past few months but I recently decided to just rewire em together to go back to getting some sick synth sounds. Mixing in Reason is a bit limited but still a sweet program. I wouldve recommended gettin reason 5 tho...looks ill!
