Worked beautifully.
(^^ this was done with a free app called "Clear Lockscreen 4.0" from the Cydia store)
Now all I need are translucent icons. Does anybody here have a theme that turns icons into transparent versions of themselves? Like what you see when you double-tap your home button, ie:
