first time i saw eyedea was when he was touring with atmosphere back in like 98 or 99... it was right after ford part 2 was released and right before lucy fords was released as an lp. i didn't know the difference between atmosphere and eyedea at the time and for all i knew it was some brand new breed of genius white boys who i managed to stumble upon that night at room 710 on red river. both slug and eyedea left huge impressions on me that night. it was the first time i'd ever heard the song "the woman with the tattooed hands" and i'd never been to a rap show where every single member of the crowd hung on to every single word the mc spit like that. it was memorable to say the least. i also remember eyedea performing "big shot", it was one of those classic moments where the whole crowd goes "oh shit!" at how clever and dope the mc is. you don't see that much these days. people just want a recital of their favorite single for the most part. anyway, i never was the biggest fan of eyedea, but he had a profound effect on me at a pivotal time. big up the mark he left. it's not like he's gone or nothin'.

I saw him paired with atmosphere right after he won that freestyle comp over Eminem.
He and slug had this mc workshop aswell, was cool.
Really down to earth people.
