Hey guys, so I been listening to stagga lately, this guys tunes are sick, and he certainly has his own sound anyway in this tune I was wondering if my guess is correct in that his noises are sometimes if not always in reverse? giving it that kind of crazy synesthetic bass noise? Cus I can't really think of any otehr way to make something like that unless I delve deeper into fm synthesis.

Don't see why it would be in reverse, the time warp tune sounds like it is but that's just the backspin effects I think.

*edit* Most of his other tunes are a little on the midrange wob side though

Happens way more often than you would think once you know what it sounds like huh.

Just sounds like hes using things like saw waves in his lfo modulations.. pitch modulation via envelope?

If hes using Logic pro he would most likely use the slow down or speed up fade using audio.

Or yeah just pitch it down, tape stop feels easier to me but then again automating pitch on fl's a bitch.

One cool little technique i've picked up on in fl studio is resampling in a different speed to the track then time stretching the bass back to its original tempo. The different options for stretching sometimes give some really strange results, try the 'speech' setting and layer it up with maybe the transient one or even the monophonic one for ultimate grit. Gives it an fm-y vibe on midrange stuff that works really well when it suits.

ive tried stuff like stagga before, and a lot of his stuff sounds like hes used the 'iron' wave shape on massive.
so i thought i'd try and recreate one of the sounds going on in that video for you. now, im no expert on synthesis
but i think ive got something fairly similar going on just by messing around for 10 minutes.

its not great but its a start and if i tell you how to achieve this you might be able to produce something better than i can.

to start off with i selected the iron waveshape in massive, and set it to formant.
then mess around with the wt-position and intensity until you get a nice sound
then assign the lfo to the intensity, and set it to a saw wave...youll have play with the dials from there until you get it sounding nice but its relatively simple to get what i have...and then of course just drench it in reverb and chorus it etc...hope this helps

oh cool yea sounds like iron could be part of it for sure you got that down pretty tight sounding ha!
