love this lp longtime. -runnin'- is one of j dilla's biggest productions ever. apparently he didn't use a sequencer for the beat. the beat on the LP version of runnin' was hand played on the pads of an emu sp1200 for the recording. one take.....

sick

I still have mine. I got it from the pool I was in during the mid-nineties. Excellent album.

i got it too, plus a 12" with emerald butterfly
didn't know it was limited though.

i got this as a 16th birthday present and it's been ages since i listened. I've just put it on and it sounds so good. As a youth i imagined it was what California sounded like.

I've been mp3ing most of my many records and haven't gotten close to the p's yet. thanks for reminding me of this

I think only the promos were colored. I remember my friend picked it up at Tower and was bummed cause it was regular vinyl.

p.s. California does sound like that sometimes :)

Thats funny, I used to think that too growing up in Wisconsin... After I moved to LA I had the chance to drive around downtown bumpin it and it was exactly how I pictured...

don't rate it. kindof a weak take on a cocaine album by the pharcyde imo.

If you're referring to the post-cracked out J Swift era, then I completely understand."Bizarre Ride" was pretty dope.Literally.After Swift left, they got a bit less edgy. But I still rate it.It definitely has some really tight moments on it.

But Fatlip didn't really start shniffing the coca until after 'Labcab'.That's why he got the boot as far as I recall.
