Sub Base Dubs

Post by Anon_dubs » Sun Oct 24, 2010 11:02 pm

Sub Base Dubs has now officially existed long enough to have been indexed on Google! To celebrate this we've decided to provide an in-depth post explaining the process behind the DJ resources that come under the umbrella moniker of Sub Base Dubs, and post it up on the dubstep forum for the first time.

Sub Base Dubs is run by two DJ's currently active in the London Dubstep scene. We have chosen to remain anonymous as we hope that one day the series of resources that we provide will be popular enough that decent new artists will be able to use it as a platform to reach more fans, and we do not wish to be pressured in the future by our friends into plugging their tunes over other peoples.

The blog is only one part of a three part proccess intended to help DJ's keep up to date with developments in the world of dubstep. The first part of the proccess takes the form of the AnonymousDubsYouTubechannel- which is the newest addition the the SBD family and therefore will be growing most rapidly over the next few weeks. This channel will be frequently updated with the very best of the newest tunes from the week's mixes, allowing DJ's to find out about songs long before they are available. The second part of the process is the blog itself, which provides release dates for all the tunes which are taking that step from dubplate to release, and which you can find out a little more about just by taking a look around now!

The third and final stage in the process takes the form of social networking. The Facebook/twitter branch of the family tree lets us stay on top of what everyone in the world of dubstep is getting up to 24/7. It is our way of keeping in contact with followers, doing research for the blog and, possibly most important in terms of the future of SBD, forming contacts with unsigned artists and underground collectives all over the world and bringing their activities to the attention of as many people as possible, via the various routes SBD can now provide, whether it's link hosting, video hosting or messages through social networking.

As there are only two of us and we both have day jobs as well we cannot promise to update the blog every day, but we do intend to update at least one aspect of each of the many sites that make up SBD at least that often, so be sure to add us on Facebook, follow us on twitter or blogspot and favourite us on YouTube, if you love deep dubstep you won't be dissapointed. x
