Question: How do mixers' quality typically compare to the quality of a 320? I know that it depends on the track and the fact that vinyl goes threw a different mastering process, But I'm talking price range.
I was going to get a Xone:22 but then I read a bunch of reviews about filter pops, CF bleed and hiss in cue output.. all which seem to be a common problem!
So I now have my eyes on a American Audio MX-1400 DSP (i can get one new for $220).. from reviews it seems to be a solid build..
I'm just wondering if I'm playing a house party (on a decent sound system) will I be able to mix my vinyls w/ the same quality as MP3s?

All depends on the preamps as far as the quality of what will e coming out of...

Things like cue bleeding and shit is on the faders, whatevers bleeding through is still at good quality if the preamps are good, its just the fact its bleeding through thats annoying lol...

People say cables'length make a difference and I defy em to give me a situation I can hear it in...

Hiss in cue outputs seems to me like they are probably abusing the cue then... but idk, that's gonna be a mixer specific problem if there is one, Ive used a n' hs on an occasion and I was in love, maybe that one was just lucky though? not enough experience on there gear to tell you...

quality comes down to preamps and blanace vs. unbalanced outs though...

another thing I was thinking was to get a preamp and run the signals from each turntable into its own deck in traktor.. and just get another midi controller, as oppose to both tables threw a mixer then into the same deck!
but then I would NEED my computer to use my tables.
Do you have any recommendations for the $300 price range.. I could wait awhile and save up to get something more expensive, but I just sold my old mixer today, so I'll be out of a mixer.
I just need something to fit w/ 320s at your average house party!

I'm glad to hear.. I've been looking around more.. and it seems like a lot of people are satisfied with it!
Would you say sound quality is club worthy? The designer himself said that it used the same parts as the high end models.. its just a very light version.. but he also said that the effects are triggered by soft switches, and shouldn't creates pops.. but there are a lot of complaints about it.

Yes I would say it is club worthy but why does that matter? You know its jokes to take your decks n mixer in when 99.9% of the time theyll provide that? I mean if your using serato take your interface n laptop, always have your records, but why are you worried about your mixer being club quality, are you the sound guy at a club?

At the main club for dubstep here I've only seen people bring their own gear. The reason I asked is because if its club worthy its obviously house party worthy, and if I do spin at a club where I need my own gear I'll be set.

I get what you're saying. I just want a mixer thats not gonna make my vinyls sound like shit. So if I'm mixing from digital to vinyl there might be a difference, but not a bad difference.

well then the a&h won't steer you wrong. while i have various complaints about minor features of each of their dj mixers i've played on over the years, from the cheapest to the most expensive, none of those complaints involve sound quality in any way.

If you don't know the difference, it will be fine.

go with an Ecler NUO or EVO 4.

If your worried about fader bleed, get one with a replaceable fader. If your worried about filter pops use a dust cover. If your worried about hiss learn how to set your levels properly.
Really if you take care of your gear it will take care of you, unless you buy a cheap POS then you can expect to buy twice.

The biggest concern for any mixer is it's EQs. Sound quality varies slightly over diff models but it's no big if you are just using it at home. If you are running a club a nice 4 channel Pioneer is almost standard.
Effects and shit like that are basically gimmicks so don't waste your time or make your secision on that. Nothing more toy than a NooB DJ that uses the same Flanger sweep on every single tune after it drops lol..
