New program for producing.

Sup, I've been producing Dubstep with FL all times, but I wanna move on.
I tried reason but I do not like it because of the not usage of VST's.
What do most professional, Dubstep/Drum&Bass artist use?
Probably Logic? Is there a program just like Logic only then for PC?
Tips would be so helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Isn't FL Studio supposed to be the program that's most similar to logic for PCs?

To correct you there's no program "most professionals" use. It totally depends on the workflow of each artist and their personal preference. I would advise probably giving ableton live a go (demo) from their site and see if you like it. Otherwise if that's no good try Cubase - I believe there's also Reaper now which is gaining traction.

No I think reaper or Cunard would be. FL is quite unique really.
To the OP if your not producing how you want to in FL it ain't the softwares fault man it's because you haven't learnt enough yet. There isn't any one magic program that's gonna make you a sick producer. Yes lots of big names use logic bug lots of big names use every program. Skream still uses FL, the widdler and stenchman still mostly use reason and the prodigy did a lot of work with it.
I say again. Changing program don't make you a better producer. Only learning your craft will do that.

Allright some questions about Ableton Live.
Can I copy all my samples and use it in Ableton? And all my VST's ?
Does Ableton has like basic FX like delay's, reverbs en able to cut out samples?
Thanks.

Yeah. Ableton is a good move imo but I am bias since that is what I use.

Ableton would probably be my main DAW if I could run it.

Allright going to try out the Demo, I'll keep you folks updated how it is as a former FL user.
I might use both since I can make nice drum-loops at FL.

same only reaper.
try em all and find one that clicks with you. it may be slow going as fl is very unique in the way it works. but youll figure out the differences soon enough.

It took me about 3 days of solid Ableton practise to come to grips with it, and I started off in Logic. I also did it with no online help at all (had no internet at the time). My suggestion to you - soak yourself in it for a few days. If you've got internet, it's easier. Youtube ftw

@OP, Ableton has built in lessons I suggest doing them all.

Absolutely youtube is what got me quickly to the point where I was comfortable with it. Holy fucking shit is that an awesome resource. Back when I was starting out you were SOL. I mean you can read manuals but they are no good for me, you have to be able to read

There are numerous options available.
Cubase
Reaper
Ableton
FL
Reason
etc.
Do a search on google for Daw.
It`s all about personal preference.
I use Cubase at home but use reaper on my usb to produce anywhere else.

I hate ableton...I love logic but it's damn expensive,so I'd recommend Reaper or Reason(Damn I love reason,if it had VST support,I'd be only using it)

I tryed using FL and quickly became irritated by it for some mad reason, I can't remember.
Then I was introduced to Ableton. Personally I prefer it for it's simplicity and straight-forwardness.
Plus compatibility in the lastest Versions.
I also done a studio course using Cubase, Nuendo and Pro-tools. I don't mind using the likes of Cubase but only really for like recording bands and mastering that form of music.
For electronic music it's Ableton all the way for me man.
Considering getting my hands on Logic/Reason to see what the hype is all about.

Yeah, i've been introduced to FL due one of my friends which produced hiphop beats, but Ableton is complety different since there aint that easy grid where you just can make your drumloops that quickly, not to mention that there was a menu which showed all your VST's and samples. That option might be in Ableton Live but I need to go from the stratch. So I guess last weeks I'm going to do nothing except producing with Ableton..
Also, not troaling.

There are grids but you have to make a clip first. There is a browser menu also, on the left side. Read the manual do the included lessons don't be lazy
