Weekly Freeware Plugin Roundup on Musicradar.com

Some of you prob'ly already know about this I'm sure...
Musicradar.com has an ongoing series (over a year now) that's a weekly roundup of new & interesting freeware plugs. Those of you who are always looking for new "toys" to play with should check it out. If you already dabble in the world of freeware plugs you probably know that it's very hit or miss (about a 1 to 100 ratio of the former to latter.) I've been finding more interesting stuff in these roundups than the free-for-all world of KVR, honestly... go ahead and check it out and be sure to browse the older installments too.
PS: they also give some love to Mac users - not all of the plugs are VST or PC-only.

well, I think there are a few regular posters who take pleasure in signing up new accounts and posting waste. until they realize that makes us all look bad, or they find another place to troll, it's threads like this that will keep this place respectable.
but yeah, it's still a lot better than it was this time last year

I actually like the GUIs more than I like the plugs - I've tried the Darkware plugs since way back when he was still active and honestly have never found one I had much use for, but if you were doing like Power Noise or industrial or something then maybe.

Check it out: this week the first plug mentioned is probably something VERY useful to us here:
Noisebud Binvert
Platform/format: PC/VST
Download
If you make a lot of bass-heavy music and find that the different bass sounds end up cancelling each other out in your mixes, Binvert might be able to help. It works by splitting the signal into two bands and adding a phase invert for both, allowing you to invert the polarity of the two bands independently.

This week there's some pretty cool plugs - a 4 band sidechainable compressor, a circuit-bent toy VSTi, a 'warmer'...
...but I also just now noticed that they have a similar thing with a weekly free sample pack, and the first one I see? "Dark Dub!"
Well well well. Let's see what else is in there, shall we? Jazz... dubstep... country crunk (wtf?!)

For most people, the party season has just come to an abrupt end, but for SampleRadar, it never stops.
In fact, we're starting 2011 by getting our old-school rave on, with a collection of sounds that hark back to the early '90s. So, grab your whistle and dive in.
What you need to know
The samples are split into five folders: Beats, Drum hits, FX, Loops and Construction Kits (127, 135 and 140bpm).
All the samples are supplied as WAV files so can be imported directly into your DAW or sampler of choice. Because they're royalty-free, you're welcome to use the samples in your music in any way you like - all we ask is that you don't re-distribute them.
The old-school rave samples are supplied in a zip file, so you'll need to extract them before you can see them. Enjoy!

I regret to inform you all that it appears they're not updating either the free plug series or the free samplepack series with any regularity any more - looks like it's ready for a phase-out. You guys should go peruse 'em while they're still up and download what you can.
The good news:
VSTplanet.com has a decent new VST section.
