Maxmillion Dunbar Album Launch Party with Maxmillion Dunbar, Computer Jay, Shortstuff, Bad Autopsy, Tom Kerridge plus special guest Throwing Snow.
One of London’s Premier Record Stores Teams Up With One Of The Most Creative Forward Thinking Record Labels In The UK Right Now.
Phonica Records present a night with Ramp Recordings at East Village. Ramp Recordings stands for pushing sounds forward that transcend genres and boundaries and stand at the forefront of the blurry hinterlands between dubstep, UK funky and garage. Maxmillion Dunbar’s debut album ‘Cool Water’ sees the label diggin deeper into screwed Boogie and slow disco dreams than ever before.
“I kind of channel my own childhood into my tunes. I’m very nostalgic for that time of my life. I grew up around a lot of love,” (Maxmillion Dunbar)
On the night you will see not only Maxmillion Dunbar making his first UK appearance and spreading his unique Maryland love sounds from behind the decks; expect weird disco to open-minded hip-hop, from space boogie to psychedelic ambient, and from synthetic funk to Chicago house but also spinning on the night are label mates :-
Computer Jay- flying in with Max D from the U.S after being keyboard player for Stones Throw’s Dam-Funk,
Shortstuff- one of the most prolific Ramp artists and a very in demand dj he drops by to smash up our dance.
Bad Autopsy- One of Ramp’s freshest signings will be showing you all what to look forward to in the near future.
Label founder Tom Kerridge- with his ideals and ears being the sole brainchild behind the label, his set is a must hear on the night.
Not only that Throwing Snow will be making an early appearance at the controls, after the success of his debut release on Alex Nut’s Eglo Records sub label Ho_Tep this is a reason to get down early and get to the front.
Also on hand to make sure the party goes off with a bang are Phonica DJs playing the freshest vinyl in London!!!
