***THE OTHERS*** (Dub Police)
The Others; what began life four years ago as a one-time collaboration brought to light a musical kinship between London based DJ/producers Alex Crawford (D-Code) and Paul Baker (Dexterous), unwittingly forming a duo that three continents and over a dozen releases later has solidified as a pillar of the vibrant Dubstep scene.
With their first release on Boka (Hear Dis Style / Underworld) in 2006, The Others were quickly signed by Dub Police, arguably the world’s leading Dubstep label, in a move that has seen them become the most released artists on the label’s roster and considered true ambassadors of the eclectic Dub Police sound.
Having spanned the globe with their unique and varied DJ sets, taking in tours of America and Australasia as well as countless dates all over the UK and Europe, clocking up releases on leading labels such the legendary Tempa and N-Type’s Wheel & Deal Records along the way.
The Others continue to move forward with ever increasing strides, crafting Vol. 3 of the ongoing “Keep Watch” series for New York based clothing company Mishka, appearing live on BBC Radio 1’s Mary Anne Hobbs Show and with Crazy D & Hatcha on KISS 100, securing features on genre-defining compilation albums such as “Dubstep Allstars Vol. 4”, Caspa & Rusko’s “FabricLive.37” and Scratch Perverts “Beatdown” CD, collaborating with Caspa & N-Type and providing remix work for Hip Hop pioneers The Wu-Tang Clan.
With no sign of slowing down, these Dubstep stalwarts stand out as true creative trailblazers.
**** CLUE KID**** (Disfigured Dubz)
Cluekid, originally from Norwood upon Hill UK, has a vast musical background, initially based around a lot of old rock music, his father was a guitarist and Cluekid also played the drums, building the foundation for his musical future. Around the age of 16 Cluekid got into grime, leaning more towards the bassline beats, around the same time he linked with Cotti who was doing grime as well, Cotti then put Cluekid in his crew 4n4mat, where they started doing sets on pirate radio shows. This also helped Cluekid to start producing beats. Later on after meeting up with Chef and loefah he started to create dubstep having released on ‘-30 recordings’ and ‘Disfigured Dubz’ and with his new label ‘Bullfrog beats’ things don’t look to be slowing down. Cluekid’s mixing is also as big as his ambitions, with shows all over Europe and headlining tours as far away as Australia, dubz cut and huge bass lines makes his live shows un miss able.

****ROB SPARX**** (Z Audio)
Based in Leicester, UK.
An excellent Double Bass, Piano and Guitar player, Rob Sparx has been writing and DJing dance music since the late 90s. Robs first release in Jan 2004 "Rob the Builder - Can you fix it", was the start of a wave of drum n bass releases on Twisted Individual's label's Grid, Zombie and Up Yours. Rob has also released DNB on Formation records, Propaganda (GDub), Vibez (Subject13) and label/distributor Z-Audio. Never one to be pigeonholed Rob soon experimented with other genres producing breaks, house/electro and dubstep on various labels including Drum n Breaks and Blurred Vision. Rob finally settled on dubstep as his main style of music and now releases music on labels including Z-Audio, Audiophreakz, On the Edge, Dubting and Dubout. He also writes trance for Armin Van Buren's Armada imprint and owns 2 of his own dubstep labels "Sour Grapes" and "Migration”. Next year he will be launching a 3rd label “Sub Horizon” and releasing some new DNB material.
Owing to the diverse range of music he produces Robs tunes have been played by a wide selection of DJ's including: Zane Lowe, Kissysellout, Eddy Temple Morris, Nerm, Pathaan, Joe Ransom, Skream, N-Type, Distance, Benga, Darkside, TRG, N-Type, Scientist, Walsh, Rusko, Tes La Rok, Sukh Knight, Grooverider, Bryan G, Bailey, Dieselboy, LDouble, Marky, Nicky Blackmarket, Flyte, Ash Attack, James Zabelia, Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa, Laurent Garnier, Colin Dale, Gabriel Ananda, Quivver and 10Sui! 2009 saw the release of Rob’s 2cd debut album “Trooper” with vinyl samplers which includes remixes from Distance, TRG, Reso, Bar9, Synkro & Indigo and received many great reviews from magazines such as Knowledge (“an unpretentious masterpiece”), IDJ (“impressive throughout”), ATM (“Very well produced dubstep”) and websites like Getdarker (“A well crafted mix of tracks”).
****KOAN SOUND****
It's strange how the death of one musical group can
be exactly the sort of catalyst needed to spawn another.
KOAN Sound, the Bristol based trio, are certainly a
highly gifted example of this phenomenon. 2007 saw
Brendan, Jim & Will unite, deciding to fuse their passion
for electronic music and blazing musical talent to form
a new collective, KOAN Sound. With influences such as
Eskmo, Amon Tobin and especially Noisia, it's not hard
to see why KOAN Sound tracks are synonymous of dark
gripping basslines that tear dance floors apart.
Support is nothing but exponential for KOAN Sound;
their unique twist to normality in production and thrilling
basslines has granted them credibility from producers
and DJs all over the electronic music scene. The future
seems to hold something special for the young producers,
who have aligned themselves with the likes of Asa,
Culprate, Statix, and the Screwloose Records family.
Keep your eyes fixed, your ears to the ground and
prepare your speakers: KOAN Sound have arrived.

****GENETIX**** (Audio Phreaks, Just Skank)
Digiworx/Genetix is the combination of Shifta aka Hoax and Dj Tron. Forming around 3 years ago the duo concentrated mainly on jump up dnb and found that working together was a winning formula. About a year ago the pair were approached by Dj Phantasy to produce tracks for his easy records lable under they're Digiworx alias and recently had they're first ep out. The tracks spent a couple of weeks in the nu urban top 20 with the track "Dirty Work" hitting the top spot. With many solo releases under they're belts aswell the lads tracks have been doin well around the dnb circuit so you can expect to see many more dancefloor bangers to surface over the coming months.
Having produced they're fair share of dnb matt and rich decided to try they're hand at dubstep. Matt had recently done a track called "Jehrico" under his hoax alias which turned out well hitting 150,000 views on UKF's you tube channel. With that in mind the guys decided to do something on a similar vien to Jehrico but with a dirtyier angle. They came up with the track "Squid Attack". With big boy Funtcase jumping on it straight away it wasn't long before the rest of the circus crew started hammering it. The track featured on the massive circus records podcast mixed by Flux Pavilion where it caught the attention of Z Audio. Squid Attack is now forthcoming as part of a 3 track ep on Audio Phreaks in december under they're new Dubstep alias "Genetix" along with another ep on Z Audio due soon. The Ep is recieving massive support from the likes of Nero, Dr p, Statelapse and Downlink to name a few with squid attack sparking quite an amusing debate on you tube. Hopefully this will settle it!
