Got a £25 fine from TFL. I had an oyster on me, but borrowed my friend Robin's child oyster to get on bus for free. Unfortunately TFL officers jumped on bus and scanned everyones oysters. I gave them my adult oyster (which had money on) and because it wasn't the oyster I used to get on the bus with they said they had to confiscate it and give me a fine. Luckily, the officer was a nice guy and I made up some excuse that I was wearing my mates jacket and had accidentally used his oyster. He said that I may be able to appeal.
tldr; £25 fine for using wrong oyster card (increased to £50 on the 18th) should I appeal or is it not worth it? I might lose the appeal and have to pay double...
HELP!

Thats what I thought. I heard that they only take notice of appeals when an officer made a mistake and in my case I made the 'mistake'

mate i don't understand why you would use some1s childs oyster card to get a free ride when you had money on ya own card
i mean how much would you have stood to save? bout 2quid? hmmmmmmmmmm i thinks not in a muggy way but you derserve the fine in my opinion.
that said i do think they should at least give ya 3 strikes each time just making you paying the cost of the journey then on or after the 3rd then fine ya.
fingers crossed on not having to pay the fine.
if you get away with it then you shoukld use that £25 to either get pissed or buy a lil tart for an hour or so

How to fuck can they double the fine if you appeal? That's a load of shit, the whole point of appealing it to appeal, and explain your side of the story, they listen, and worst thing that can happen is they'll make you pay the fine, they CANNOT increase the fine, that's ludicrous!
