Hey, how's it going? This is Alex / Rx from Brooklyn, NY. I just started working at Dubspot ( http://www.dubspot.com ), a school for DJs and producers here in Manhattan.

I've been using this forum for a while to learn a ton about production, meet other people in Philly & NYC into dubstep and for checking out mixes and events. All of us at the office really love dubstep and want to help more people produce.

We have a lot of production tips and tutorial videos on our youtube page already ( http://www.youtube.com/user/DubSpot ), but we're interested in hearing what type of production videos you'd like to see. Any style conventions you'd like to see us break down? Making a wobble bass, wonky synth lines, making a sub bass, future-garage-or-whatever-you-want-to-call-it rhythms? Let us know!

it't would be great if you could make a tutorial about song structure/arangement

A tutorial on synthesis would be great, maybe emulating popular artists sounds. I personally would like to make a chasing shadows style synth. Maybe also a tutorial on some of the popular plugins used, and effects chains.

I'm taking the sound synthesis course in january! I can't wait.

Haven't you heard of private lessons for sports? thats kind of what they do, but MUCH less expensive.

Hmmmm creative compression, synth drums, and weird percussive elements?

Nice, i clicked the youtube page and the first thing i saw was how to sync ableton and traktor, one of the things that's gonna be important to me here soon. heheh.

Yes the tutorials are quite nice. But $500?! To learn an art form... that most people have learned through experimentation...

Almost 90% of all artists I know, (that are any good) went to school some way or another, and honestly, $500 dollars is nothing compared to other schools. I'm pretty sure you would get your $500 dollars worth through their program.

may i add that investing in ur talent often makes u take ur own self more seriously... (that being a mere symptom, a motivation source or both)

Have to agree here rook. To get the resources and time from the tutors, $500 isnt a bank breaker. I went through college, and now in university. College was £1000 of my own hard earnt money... and well spent too.., University is currently setting me back £30,000 (repayable student loan).

Haha. I'm usually pretty positive.

Seems like these guys have a lot of knowledge to share

Had a look through the tutorials on offer and i'm looking forward to working my way through them

dubspot's great. Taught a masterclass there last year-- great folks on staff w/ tons of knowledge and history in their respective scenes, and an excellent setup.

Nice one on this, thanks for the heads up. I just got Traktor Scratch Pro last week and I was wondering the same damn thing. Looks like it was just posted 4 days ago.

Dubspot seems to be a really cool and a valuable resource. My good friend DJ Kiva teaches there and he has told me a lot about it. It's great that they are putting out a lot of videos too, I'm stoked on that Traktor / Ableton one, I'm about to try that one tonight!
