Paul Rose alias Scuba ist ein Dubstepper der ersten Stunde. Sein 2003 gegründetes Label „Hotflush Recordings“ deckt das gesamte stilistische Spektrum des Genres ab, und hat sich zu einer der einflussreichsten Plattformen der Szene entwickelt. So vielseitig wie die Veröffentlichungen auf Hotflush sind auch seine DJs-Sets und eigenen Produktionen, mit denen er konstant die Grenzen zwischen Dubstep und angrenzenden Stilrichtungen auslotet. Bereits vor einem Jahr legte er bei einer Freak Camp Session einen fulminanten Auftritt hin, der geradezu nach einer Wiederholung schrie.

Dass Dubstep auch in den Vereinigten Staaten Fuß gefasst hat, beweist The Lexxus. Vor allem in seiner Heimatstadt San Francisco hat sich eine lebhafte Szene mit eigenen Partys und Labels, sowie einem eigenständigen, von Hip-Hop und Hyphie beeinflussten, Dubstep-Stil entwickelt. The Lexxus zählt zu den Pionieren, die SF auf die Dubstep-Weltkarte gesetzt haben und macht auf seiner Mission, den neuen Westküsten-Sound in Europe zu verbreiten, auch in Berlin halt.

Zudem hat sich ein Überraschungsgast angekündigt, dessen Identität noch nicht enthüllt werden kann.

Die Freak Camp Session ist seit Januar 2006 die erste regelmäßige Dubstep-Party Berlins und präsentiert sowohl internationale Gäste als auch lokale DJs.

noice one...
was positively surprised by the VCF on the n-type show, skanked all nite infront of the back end subs...

as a sidenote for the berlin folks since it just came to me head:
oh how I would wish to hear dubstep in the old WMF @ johannisthaler strasse.... hard:edged & metalheadz sessions were so damn nice back then, and they had the only bass I ever felt that warmed my tummy...
unfortunately it s some sort of hotel & spa thingy for a few years now....
how could you fckn destroy a room with such a good acoustic behaviour...
how....?

I was really missing my dose of loud dubstep since the N-type seission...
...Scuba, cool ! yah yah back in the days in good old cell in westberlin...long gone those days;)
..yeah and waiting to check out Lexxus sound to...

yeah.. wmf @ johannishof were the days - the place where i first got deeeply into dnb. for me everything was perfect ... from the wooden walls, lightning to sound etc.. i guess money can destroy things like that... :(

cheers go out to the freak camp cru. Couldn't stay long because I was too tired but I had my share of fun :)
