Hey all, I'm having trouble getting my synths to sound thick and chunky, a la
Obviously low passing plays a large roll, but other than that I am lost. Sorry for what is probably a really obvious question, and many thanks in advance

Resample them
export and layer the same synth on top of itself a few times

You dont have to re-sample to get that sound. Sounds like a sub bass layer created with a sine or saw wav. Lower the cutoff filter and add some low end saturation and compression to fatten it up.

create a couple of sends... put a slight delay on them ensure they have different delay times & pitch shift em abit.
create some new audio tracks & use the buss outs as ins.
play around with the parameters in realtime to real fuk shit up
i find this easia than traditional resampling.
!!chea

Wouldnt this only have an effect if they were processed different or out of phase?

not if you split channels, pan and layer stereo tracks on top of mono tracks...
here's my formula:
2 split mono tracks, one combined mono downmix and one stereo track

This shit works........A friend of mine showed me how to do this awhile ago and I'm lovin it. Also try slightly detuning in individual channels for an extra beefy sound

Resampling is not a must to get thick sounds. It's just one of many, many techniques you can use.

Thanks for the tip! Gotta try it asap! Does it work with heavily distorted bass sounds tho ?
