Mr Ullah added: 'We would like to have a protest closer to the memorial but it is difficult to get access. We want to break the silence and say, "What about the silence for others that have died?'"
They've got a point.

here's some coverage that isn't sensationalist right wing shit.

Although i disagree with the protests, they have every right to express their views and the fact they are allowed to do it is a credit to this country.

Cage match to the death between these guys and the BNP. Whoever's left gets escorted out of the cage and shot in the alley.

It was a TINY percentage of Muslims doing it and when you remember they're stamping all over the memory of men who died opposing the persecution of religious/ethnic background you have to question why they're doing so (doesn't make much sense, right?) so with that in mind it's really not worth getting wound up over a bunch of young men blinkered by hate when they fail to realise their sacrifice was for their benefit as well...

Props to the Daily Mail for fuelling hatred, no really, we need more of this.

the reaction these protesters wanted, was served up exactly by the daily mail. they wanted media coverage, and the daily mail ate the bait gladly. ridiculous article, meant to sell newspapers and carry forth more xenophobia..

Wear a white poppy then.

This seems needlessly disrespectful, but of course they should be allowed to do it if they want. It's everyone's right to be offensive and/or offended occasionally.

I agree.
English Defence League protester Clive Donnellan, 49, a construction manager said: 'The MAC could have chosen a more sensitive day to protest. They are preaching hate and although it's great to have free speech this shouldn't be happening today. They can come down any other day and say what they think.'
If the MAC had done it on another day, it wouldn't have got anywhere near the same amount of attention or coverage.

Yes.

I'm not angry, it just makes me sad and disappointed in people. This protest leaves me with a very uncomfortable, sickly feeling.

The difference between this and any article by the daily mail is ridiculous.

Is it specifically muslims or just afghani people? Seems the case is for the people on the other side of the afghan war, so why is that mythical beast allah dragged into play? If it is a quest adopted by islam, then LOL at how self destructive muslims make islam. These are British muslims too... What a complete failure. The poppy thing isn't to be twisted into a bitter case of 'not giving a fuck about other countries'... The rest is pretty obvious, not worth typing
