MUCH LOOOOOVE & RESPECT GWAAAN!!
I have not been more happy about the direction raves are going and am extremely honored to be a part of it in such an early stage (at least in the USA).
Massive respect to all you dubstepperz and thank you for keeping the roots of the rave alive.

4real, these raves are more having a good time, with the crowd following the melody n beats, instead of going really crazy for the lyrics n beats, if u get me. Been to loads of different kinds of partys, dnb, hip hop, house, grime, dubstep, and only dnb, house n dubstep only placese i been where there no beef!!! at all. just might be coincidence tho, but those raves are more about the MUSIC..

Yes, i second that..........but we need to work hard to keep it from becoming really formulaic, i can see it slightly becoming like that in the uk with lots of heads opting for that DMZ sound instead of pushing it and keeping it moving. massive big up to Cyrus, man has many a style and thats what the scene needs.

imo dmz have loads and loads of different sounds and styles- i dont think it would be a shame if lots of newbies use them as influences as theres so much room for those sounds to develop and meld into other varied styles.
as long as people dont become idle n start using the same beats/structures, we'll be ok.

thats exactly what i mean, i've got nuffthing against the dmz ting, and ur rite there is alot of styles, i guess what i mean is lots of people seem to be on producing loefah style drum patterns......... i guess i just dont want people to dissmiss strange new styles just coz they havent got that basic foundation. open ur mind n ting!

Most of us are already fed up with the tired ass DNB, BREAKS, HOUSE... beats of the last few years (formulaic and all dat).
There have been tonz amazing tracks over the yesteryears but as ravers or whateva u is, we still need to strive for the "next level"... fuck mainstream hip hop!!!
GIMME A MUTHAFUCKIN BREAKBEAT

yeah i do know what you mean. loefah has his own distinct sound, as does skream, mystikz, benga, etc - people should be bringing their OWN sounds too. thing is though, cos im quite new to dubstep, i dont know who their influences are . maybe i'd here blatant similarities in the tunes. fuck knows.

Gotsa say I agree. Its sick that its spreadin over to the US but diversity and progression are key ingredients although anything DMZ is always good, just not good to imitate.

One thing thats for shure is the Clubs and Promoters need to step up their sound systems if they want it played at their events
