Mt Eden..

Let me start by saying this is not a troll thread..
Well, I will probably get flamed for this but, whats the big deal about Mt Eden?
I understand its not the BEST Dubstep music, but I can get through a few of their songs without dying, or spitting up guts..
I believe all music is indeed music, and it should be appreciated for what it is, because it all takes effort and skill to achieve..
Even if you dislike Mt Eden, why talk so much crap about them, at least they are trying, nobody is bashing you for creating art, so why bash them? ..
I don't like to throw this word out there, but it seems there is a lot of jealousy.. If not, please explain to me what it is..
It seems Mt Eden is the most hated Dubstep on this forum, for some reason I have yet to discover..
Sure there are other producers, that produce a different sound and feel in their music, but that doesn't make them better.
I can understand you disliking Mt Eden, maybe that's not your particular style of music that you enjoy, but that's not a cause to go talking crap about them.. Lets see you make something "better", and get as famous as them.
Slowly starting to remind me of the people who hate "Justin Bieber" yet they can't come up with any particular reasons, except for "he's gay" .. (Not a fan of him, but you see what I'm saying) ..
Let the flaming begin?
Or act like humans, and have a true discussion, I just want to understand where you all are coming from on the whole Mt Eden thing..

Whenever I search, there's never any real reason's on why people dislike them, it's like people start disliking them, because other people dislike them... Weird shiz..
Anyways, I guess I'll keep searching, until I find an answer..

For the most part I think its mostly a jealously thing. Kinda almost like skrillex. I believe the became famous almost overnight and I guess their "sound" is pretty much samples and crummy drums. Like always, I could be wrong.

Yeah, that's exactly what I think..
But I guess we'll never know...
Haters gonna hate.

I actually thought they sounded alright. I guess this forum hate machine goes from artist to artist due to most of the elitists on here.

Mt Eden is very successful from a relatively simple idea - making dubstep remixes of big tunes from other genres; the Silence remix is the best example of this IMO. They put them on YouTube, became a success as no one else had done it [or if they had, hadn't marketed it as well online]. It could be argued that it's a bit paint by numbers, but some people like that; these are the people who will listen on YouTube, and send the links on to their friends etc, thus building the buzz.
There is a Mt Eden in nearly every genre; a producer or production act that make themselves a name by knocking out 'cover versions' [for want of a better term] of tracks from other genres. In the hard dance scene, for example, there is a producer called Bootek who only puts out hard techno bootlegs of pop, chart and funky house tracks. He makes all the tracks at 150bpm or thereabouts, and whilst his productions themselves are again paint by numbers, he plays around the world doing a 4 deck 'live remix' DJ set.
There is a difference between hating something, and just not liking it.

Yeah, and what sucks is everybody follows along with it, even if they liked the music at first, from the looks of it..
I'm no big fan of Mt Eden, but the hate of him just brings me down when I come on these forums..
And I actually like Skrillix, he's straight.

Hm, Okay.
Also, not liking something, is very different from downing it every time you get a chance..
All I see is how much Mt Eden is crap on here, people could at least have respect.

He's annoying,
hes got too much of an ego considering he's a little shit,
he cried when he failed his driving test...
and he really is a dumb fuck.
as for Mt. Eden, i never really got the hype either. i think remixing one of burials most popular tunes badly was probably the pushing point though.
everyone seems to have moved on to skrillex now though, and i think some of his stuff is actually quite decent and diverse
for example his alejandro remix...theres some pretty good techniques and a different style going on there, its not like hes just another brostep clone,
however i wouldnt exactly call myself a 'fan' but there we go thats just my opinion

@JustinBieberStuff; Hearing his songs always coming on A LOT, can be annoying, I don't see how he is annoying though, unless you personally know the dude..
Ego? He's rich, I would too.
People react to things differently, failing a driving test could make some one cry, while another person just chills..
How is he dumb? He fail at maths??
Lol, Besides Justin Bieber..
Yeah, I don't understand the Skrillex hate, his music is actually good in my opinion..

No. It's because Mt Eden downright stole other people's tunes.
In one of the songs you can hear Autopilot's drums where they couldn't filter them out. All of their tunes are just jacks of other peoples, with a wobble over the top.
Wasteman production. That's why they get so much hate.

Hmmm, so this thread came from the production forum? Would explain why there is a somewhat a civilised debate going on without the usual dsf dummy spitting. As you were gents

It's really just one of those "I don't like it, and if your like you are wrong" kinda deals.

Yeah, I don't understand the Skrillex hate, his music is actually good in my opinion..
-people can annoy you without directly knowing them, for example i dont personally know Gillian Mceath, but shes annoying the fuck out of me on 'im a celebrity...' its the exterior personality which i find annoying, he could be a sound guy, i doubt it, but then again he annoys me so i would.
-he was also 'flipping off' drivers and shouting at them as he insisted walking home in the rain, so i read...which kinda suggests hes a spoilt, whiny brat and thought that because hes a 'star' he would pass no problem, again with the ego.
-and no, but in an interview he didnt know what 'german' was after being asked repeatedly if his surnam was german
but yes anyway, mt eden and skrillex...i personally wouldnt say thier 'good' as thats subjective. but to say they are talentless is just mind-numbingly incorrect. i personally couldnt listen to more than one of thier songs in a sitting, but thats just my taste, i can still appreciate the fact that they are capable of producing well.
