Interesting info which you may not be aware of, particularly when you consider the demonization of welfare fraudsters in the media
Hmm....

YES BUT, I'D STILL GET MY BENEFITS CUT BEFORE BIG BUSNISS HAS TO PAY OUT.

Facts don't mean shit do they? I've known the above figures for years, but it's not like yoiu can go the your local DWP office and recite them and expect a break.

Love the perspective of it all though

Welfare Fraud - £2 bn

Government Fraud in Whitehall - £5bn

Like to see the advert on the tv for that one

"No if's, no but's - being a shifty mp or civil servant robs £3bn a year more than welfare cheats". Hypocritical stnuc

Pales into insignificance next to the £85bn tax avoidance though

Note as well that the US "defence" budget is pretty much the UK's national revenue from tax, VAT and excise duty.

And shockingly, I seem to remember that all of Africa's debt only amounted to like £10-30bn or so. But then if they weren't indebted to the west, presumably they wouldn't be able to take full advantage of having their public services privatised for western corporate interests and end up paying through the nose for things they already owned.
Hmm....

Imagine if grime MCs chatted about this kind of stuff instead of guns, weed, girls, trainers and clothes! Truth is definitely stranger, and more interesting than fiction!

I assume you've read Confessions of an Economic Hitman?

Should be required reading, it's the nuts and bolts of how government and corporations achieve what we all know they're doing...

Yeah, I do find it a bit wierd how grime and hip hop mc's are like unofficial adverts for various brands. Read that Jay-z and Busta even took money for mentioning Moto, etc in their rhymes - they're clearly a bit more business-minded about these things.

Political mc'ing generally sounds a bit swag (apart from PE naturally).
Hmm....

Always thought that Krs-1 was a bit self rightious and pompous really. He always came off as a little corny to be honest. His flow was never that good any way.
Jeru was never that overtly political.

Spot on, but Sound of the Police is still up there. KRS' flow was shite, and to these ears was mostly pretty patronizing - sounded like those teachers that tried to be "down with the kids", but would probably end up with "KRS is a dickhead" written on the side of his Fiat (well at my school anyway)

I thought for a while that wiley could do a more socially concious thing. Perhaps not full on political though.

The sad thing is if Scott La Rock hadn't been shot i reckon BDP would have sunk to the bottom of hip hop obscurity.
