Hey,
I've been listening to dubstep for about three years now and was just thinking now of creating some myself as well as maybe some grime and drum n bass. I was just wondering how to go about it and get started. Been looking for months on how to but got nowhere and would really like to start after Christmas when I have some cash to burn. So my questions are:
What equipment will I need and how much will it cost?
How to go about making it?
Best ways to get it out to people online?
Oh and if anyone knows how to set up an Internet Radio Station would be big help to me and my friend!
Thanks!!!

Welcome to the struggle. We eat shit for breakfast and still suck, so read the stickies because I can't help you, I've been doing the same damn thing for 6 months with a inch of progression everyday.
This message doesnt apply to the beard strokers because they're always right.

This. I basically hate anything with that "brutal electro" sound; it sounds all like HUGLAGHALGHALGHAL

just some info if you're expecting to have a bunch of people listening to your station, you're going to need a dedicated server with some hefty bandwidth, which is why people usually rent one from companies online along with mirrors

Abit confused still read some of the stickies. If you can spare any time to point me in right direction for starting would be real helpful!

Try a few demos of a couple of DAW's like FL studio, ableton, reaper, cubase, logic or reason is a nice program to start in since it sort of forces you to learn the routing.. just try a few out and start learning about vst's.

Yeah man definitely check out youtube. Just search "Dubstep Tutorials". That will point you in the right direction. Your first step would be to acquire a DAW(Digital Audio Workstation) and then learn how to use that and then progress your way into music theory, composition, mixing & mastering, etc. There is so much to learn and there will be times you will feel like giving up but keep going as the rewards are well worth the large amount of time you will put into music.
As excision once said...Patience. Persistence. Practice. (something like that)
