What speed you make yer beats at?
Jus wondering what the standard is, and which direction it's moving as time goes on.
Right now I'm finding about 143-145 bpm seems suitable. I generally like to pitch it up when I play it on the CDJ so I'm wondering if people aren't making thier tunes a bit faster...

That's a bit worrying to me when music is stuck in such a short range of action...
I'd like to see different kinds of dubstep emerge. Can't you people think of some speedstep or downtempodubz?

The question was what tempo do you make your dubstep at. You can save your funky figures for IDM 
I understand what you're saying, that we shouldn't get caught in the trap of making the same mindless crap over and over but imo even if you do exclude bpm there are more than enough ways to be original with music anyway. Plus I mix with Ableton so tempo has become kinda transparent to me in that I can more or less change it whenever I want.
