studio desks

looking for a new studio desk and was wondering if you guys had any other recommendations besides studio RTA and Ikea? Im considering just building my own but wanted to see if there was anything else out there I should be considering.

Room is a fairly small rectangle. I'll post the dimensions later today after I take the measurements. But again, it's fairly small.

also fwiw i have a 21" Imac, will be getting yamaha hs80 monitors (heard they're huge), and at least a 25/49 key midi keyboard and a launchpad.

Try and find an Ikea Jerker desk. They're discontinued but are always popping up on ebay!

Anyway here it is! Its become some what of a favourite among homestudio owners! This is pretty much the exact same one Ive got and it does just fine, elevates your monitors up so you dont have to prop them up on bricks/ books/ boxes etc, and the the work surface and shelf is adjustable. You should be able to get one real cheap too, I think I got mine for £30 or something! Just make sure you get the one that is 127 or 130cm wide, as there are a few that are about 120cm wide etc (127cm is just about wide enough for me to put my adam a7x's either side. Though if you can find one that has both swing out shelves on the side it doesnt matter as these will enable you to space out your monitors much more and therefore not have to sit so close to the desk (2 speakers and head should form points on equilateral triange to get the listening sweet spot etc)

Bit of a tangent, but is that FL you're running in that pic? How are you finding it enbabling a hardware outboard synth to run through FL?

Yeah it is, it's easy. The fl studio manual has a really useful bit about connecting hardware synthesizers to it. I just followed that and it took about 5 minutes. It works just like any other vst now, when i wanna use it i just click Midi out (which controls the blofeld) and start jamming on the keyboard. Then if i wanna go use Massive or something i just click on that too and away i go.
