Footcrabs and Work Thems

I've been getting really tired of all the new releases that all have the same chainsaw womps and such... but this sound coming from Swamp81is really refreshing and it makes the elbows move more then any of those "safe" songs that i hear at every show i go to (east coast US).

I wonder if this is the new sound that is going to be at the forefront of dubstep progression... Are there any other tunes out there that got this type of vibe because I'm really feeling it?

Ramadanman and Addison Groove know what they are doing, and whilst initially they were pretty influenced by juke/Bmore, i think they have something else very unique going on now.

Nah. It's the present.

I never really got into juke. There's the odd good tune, but most of it is awful. That sound is gonna be the new wobble soon. So many people starting to do it. Like with neon, pitch bent synths.

"Footcrab" and "Work Them" are two of the tunes of the year, no doubt.

But it's all a bit obvious with when dubstep DJs play actual, straight Juke into their dubstep sets... just because Addison Groove did it first... get your own sound!

As Loe says "Work Them" is more Baltimore than Chicago anyway, and it sounds like Addison has moved on to more electro sounding stuff now, so I think Juke is far from being "the future".... still, I will be keeping a close eye on both these producers, and Swamp 81 which is easily my favourite label at the mo.

there really isn't very much exposure to proper juke for yall over there... it's not on youtube, really. plus it's been around for sooooo long that i would say it's almost the past in some respects! i think the european take on it is interesting, but if people aren't footworking or juking on the floor, it's more of a novelty and the major point of this music is being left out...

@MTR: curious as to what your opinions are of sully's latest juke inspired tunes? (off of the second to last dusk & blackdown)

The good thing about using jukey samples is that it doesnt dictate what a tune sounds like half as much as a wobble or a certain beat does. Still a lot of room for experimentation while using it. (Same can be said for wobble i guess)

For me, it's all about the sub bass and tom riddims... I get a headache if theres too many vocal samples for too long... Sometimes I feel like that's what people think juke is, just tons of repetitive vocals

Love footcrab....not liked a single other tune in that style or any 'juke' that I've heard over the course of the past year...

I quite liked them. I prefer his other stuff, though.
