always wondered this since they put the cdj's on stands... im worried if i was ever graced with the chance to play on their show it'd be like well frustrating having them so far apart haha..

anyone elses thoughts on this?

edit: i meant the cdj's not the vinyl

hahaha i always thought that, maybe they are trying to use up all the space and keep it symmetrical?

tbh, most clubs i go to have the same setup, mixer in the middle, tables to the sides and cdjs above/just to the outside.

no duh. read the thread title again, and i have played in clubs.

they are proper far apart, not seen a club with them that far apart ever

it's just coincidence. All the DJs they've booked so far have had well long arms.

yeah man, like sometimes i like to drop the track im cueing in (with the pallette on the cdj) with one hand while sorting the levels with the other

they arent that far apart, just looks like that on camera

surely its obvious? They are trying to keep the dj's healthy!

This profession has never been kind to the old figure, so by separating the decks, the dj's can enjoy a brisk walk between mixes to keep their bodies in tip top condition. It's genius.

The decks are eithe side of the mixer. Cant get closer then that im afraid. The cdj's are then next to the decks. This is tv so its important to remember this is visual. Would you rather the dj be hidden behind the cdj's? And even then there still not that far apart (it looks further on tv). As long as you can reach the mixer then thats perfect .

Yeah, the decks ain't that far apart - its not that bad once you're actually behind them.
