Vocals - HOW? WHERE? WHO?

Post by ts engage » Sun Dec 12, 2010 9:43 am

Ive been working on a lot of stuff recently just focusing on creating a 'good sound' but now that im ready to start making some full length tracks i thought, what am i going to do about getting some vocals over it? I know it doesnt have to have vocals but i want to create a few with. I dont want a remix of a song i want it to be an original so i'd have to find a way of getting someone to do vocals? But how? And by the way i DONT want that computer voice that you can just get from a text-speech program like the one in "Are you ready".

What do i do guys? :?

record yourself singing, alternatively record that girl/boy you think is really hot, that's your chance to lure him/her into your studio/bedroom and to get laid/face rape charges

I dono where you live but in my parts a lot of producers use the musicians section of Craigslist to post ads looking for specific types of vocalists. You could also always try recording yourself! :6:

im in London right now. I was thinking of recording vocals myself because i could, but i kind of wanted more female vocals to be honest. Is there a way i can manipulate my voice in to something that sounds female? There must be a vst/program/effect? Ive tried the pitch changer in logic already and that doesnt work too well :?

^^

you could do it with melodyne or something like that - would be pretty tough to get a convincing result though i imiagine. a lot of buggering around with formant shifting and stuff.

seriously though if you're looking for burial results, just download rnb acapellas and mess with them (timestretch, pitch, whatever)

i second OP's question. HOW? (dbridge sang that tune and he doesn't look like a girl to me)

it's not a vocoder, it's not a talkbox, it's not THE MOUTH... what is it he did to his voice?
