Advice?

Post by fuckoff » Thu Dec 16, 2010 1:24 pm

Hey guys

My question isn't really to do with the technical side of things as i already know how to produce. I just want some advice on chosing the right style before i start producing dubstep.
Now ive had a look on here before and it seems that if you like tunes with wobble in you are a boring pathetic scumbag with shit taste in music and extremely uncool.
On the other hand if all you listen to is burial and mala you are cool, a legend, a hero, fantastic taste in music, in the queue to be knighted by the queen.
Now to be completely honest I prefer tunes with wobble in, but i really dont want to look like an extremely uncool boring pathetic scumbag with shit taste in music. So i suppose my question to the producers on here is, how can i make tunes that i don't really be wanting to make but make them sound like i did want to make them?
Or should i just go down the route of producing wobble and look extremely uncool but gain the respect of the others who are extremely uncool?

Any advice would be great.

Regards,
Fuckoff

I don't think there are many people here who are actually against wobble. It's the 'brostep' label that a lot of people shun because it lacks musical depth but there are plenty of great artists that make heavy wobble based dance floor destroying dubstep that aren't brostep. The Widdler, Emalkay, Benga, Coki, Eskmo, maybe even 501 and Downlink etc As long as the music your making is interesting and well made then people will respect you for it. If it's formulaic and boring then people won't. Nobody cares if you make a wobbler or the most ambient chillfest ever, just so long as it's good.

problem solved.

this guy has got to be fucking joking lol, why would you ask that question. what is the point in making music, if you only want to look cool, make whatever music you like. if you made the wobz though im sure you would get more people liking it though, just not people on here.

Haha this is clearly just some one having a dig at all the people who come on here to express their hatred for "brostep". Made me chuckle.

Holy crap dude no offense but that's pathetic. Most people produce what they like themselves, not what the public wants. Just tell your public to do what your username suggests and have fun!

I have to question why some of you are making music? If your not doing it for the coolness/bitchs, what are you doing it for?

do not look within dubstep to figure out what dubstep you want to make, thats cannibal music imo. try to make dubstep with influences of what your into outside of dubstep. and why would it need to be wobble vs deep ? i think most good music and certainly most groundbreaking music lies somewhere inbetween everything else that wont easily be called one thing or another.

the only reason anyone should ever get into dubstep is for the pussy. so, obviously, wobbles win every time. i'm tellin you kids, the noisia style unsync'd wobs are what's wettin the panties these days.
