bass/dubstep...whats the difference??
basically i dont understand the difference between bass and dubstep...its basically the same right?

bass music is more of an all encompassing term, dubstep is more specific imo.

My interpretation is that bass music encompasses all sorts of genres from dubstep, drum & bass, breakbeat, breakstep, etc ... any genre that has its foundations based on bass - if you excuse the pun.
Dubstep is a variation of bass music normally following a particular formula; approximately 140bpm, half-step, reh reh reh, Of course, a lot of artists have interpreted this in their own way, adding/subtracting various elements i.e. Doctor P confusing screeching synth for bass
For instance, Aphex Twin has some bassy music, I'd call it bass music but certainly not dubstep.
