Would a pair of these be ok for a house party? And how to they rate as monitors for listening to my tunes?

I'm new to all this and don't have a massive budget...

Can they be connected to a PC??

Thanks for any help :)

if you want monitors for producing, your aiming at quality, precision and flat freq response, so monitors arent good for house parties, not loud enough, or bassey enough...

if you want some cheap but loud hifi speakers for home, get some cheap floorstanding ones like these:

i got a pair of cheap eltax, had em for bout 6/7 years, n only paid £59 for em
but then again, if youre listening to dubstep etc, you mite want something bigger to get the lows

never heard em but at that budget these come highly recommended

id shop around though. try turnkey, dv247, dolphin music etc before splashing the cash.

as for house parties, well theyll fill a medium sized room at modest volumes. if you want something to spank hard then get PA speakers. :)

If you use monitors for a houseparty you're subjecting them to un-necessary pressure, which will slowly ruin thier frequency response, along with smoke deposits :-(
