ableton users quick help needed.

Post by Genophonics » Wed Dec 22, 2010 8:27 am

I don't know why but i can never ever get a good sounding synth out of ableton, everything i make whether it be a pad or a progressive synth...they always sound really metallic and it conflicts with other sounds...here is the example.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y15WIKBL

It sounds okay with just the pad...(Still a lil to metallic for my liking, but that's the best i could get it) as soon as the other synth starts coming in it just sounds like a juttered mess....and i get this a lot lol. Never happened in reason. Maybe someone could go in and just tweak it so it sounds good..then i could look at what was one perhaps?

can you export and upload it as an audio file, preferably somewhere where it can be listened to without downloading?

well the download file is so someone can actually go in and diagnose it. and why it sucks to much even though it's a catchy melody.

its possible you may be using the same waveforms over and over again on habit of using them (assuming operator is being used, if not elaborate)ive done that before and realized what i was doing later on , try messing around with settings you wouldn't normally work with and loosen up a bit when it comes to synthesizing, also if you have it on your budget try messing with some other synths out there for abit to get a feel on some other filters, etc. There are some decent free ones out there to. Hope it helps out.

having someone go into your project file and "fix" your poor sound design isnt going to make you get any better.
