i know this has been brought up before because learning about this technique im getting phasing searched and found a thread on this site of the same nature, read it and explanation was try individual compression but adjust wet/dry mix to get same effect, tried that and im still getting phasing...help :? , also i saw something about a solution involving something about a 64 sample rate which went over my head...before you say it i know im stupid but im trying

ps im on fl5

Read this;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_compression

Then read this;

Then watch this;

[there was an old CM article w/ MistaBishi & Hoochi talking about parallel compression, trying to source a PDF copy for you]

one way to do it-
put the peak controller on the kick.Then put a parametric eq on the channel which you want to control (bass?).
In the parametric eq choose the freq which you want to sidechain to the kick, right mouse click-link to controller-select "peak". Also you need to select "inverted" in the lower section so the frequency band will be lowered when the kick hits.

Your getting the phasing because FL didnt have Plugin Delay Compensation in ANY form in FL5, in FL8 they updated and you had PDC on export but not while monitoring, and now from what I understand you have full PDC during all stages.

One way to solve this, is to put both your send (parralel signal) and original through the same compression plugin, but have the one on the original working as passthrough so as to only introduce the delay time, not alter the sound.

Other then that update your version of FL already. This is the one thing that knocks FLStudio down a peg, and they fixed it, so, get on it :4:

and...

@Eridu , that has nothing to do with parralel compression, thats half-assed sidechain gating.
