Drums And Basses Help please!

Post by DCodeMusic » Fri Dec 24, 2010 3:56 pm

so lately my production has been geting alot better but i still need help with one thing, its my levels, i have got good sound quality but im just not sure what db drums or basses should be hitting. some people say -12 or -6 for drums i usually do -6 and still have enough head room but yeah what should you generally aim for for your drums? and also basses some people have told me -14 for sub and around -10 to -12 for distorted bass or whatever. this is my only major flaw and i would really like to get some other peoples thoughts/opinions on this would really help me

cheers!!

Also, being that there's already D-code from Shiva Soundsystem/In New DJ's we Trust and D-code from the Others, you might want to re-think your DJ name...

LOL

Did that dude just call sharm a troll? Is this for real? Is it really happening? Am I dreaming???

As it happens I've seen a lot of people say what you mentioned for their subs as well but personally I find mine are always closer to -20/-18 or they become boomy and drown out the rest of the track.
