I reported a rip off remix of Akira Kiteshi's "Pinball" here:
http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=174620

Well, he/she is at it again, this time with Skream/Cluekid's "Sandsnake"
http://www.juno.co.uk/products/1680185-02.htm?

He has another release out too, but I dont recognise that tune, but I doubt its original!

Not sticking up for this guy (or bashing him either), but it seems weird how this was quite normal to do back in the late eighties and nineties with hardcore, and then jungle - to sample different tunes and mash it up , and sell as white labels, but in other scenes it seems to be completely frowned upon.

I just checked out the track that samples Pinball. I gotta be honest I was impressed with the creative sampling and thought the guy/girl used it well. I'm not sure if Akira Kiteshi will share the same view but creative sampling is part of edm , always has been and hopefully always will be. Granted some are more creative with it than others. If he had used the straight hook and just put a shitty beat underneath it then sure I wouldn't be into it either but as it happens the tracks pretty badass.

The Energiser series and Breaks Bros records started the trend of mashing up a bunch of tunes into one super tune back in like 90/91 I think but this is way different, the guy/girl is sampling bits from other dubstep tracks and building new tunes around them, a little more creative than say grab a half step beat and a generic wobble and slap a well known guitar rifff or pella over it which seems to be the youtube route to success these days.

I agree, but it's not as if this is a White label...!

I'm constantly amazed by the lack of respect some people show towards their peers (and in this case, an originator and all-round badman who's done so much for this scene).

Unbelievable.

Check this one as well; http://www.junodownload.com/products/de ... 680649-02/

seems almost an actual rip of this with a couple rearrangements.

is there a link for this tune?

im all for sampling etc, so many sick producers do it very well (RJD2, MF Doom, RZA etc) but when someone takes a track from the same genre as they are producing in, takes the bassline pretty much exactly how it is and try and pass it off as their own production thats taking the piss!

its really an issue of the stores not checking into things first, and maybe at the least asking the producer if he knows who he's sampling, and if he's ready for the drama. the issue of mash ups of any kind, raises blood pressure, unless the producer doing it has asked for permission first, which may or may not be the case here.

people will do anything for drama and notoriety. anything to get noticed. so many examples of this in 2010. the real issue is, do you want notoriety without respect? everyone can see a show pony for exactly what it is.
