Reckon there's a shit load of plug ins added, But how do you think they go about making a wobble as phat as that?

Sounds like filter modulation on the oscs. Not really that hard to achieve. I think most of the grit comes from how it's eq'd. (That's the bare noize one btw). And the other one sounds a bit like a resampled reese? Maybe? Either way yeah. A fair bit of processing/effects etc.

Yeah man it definitely does sound like that, Ideas on the kind of plugins they might have used? distortion, etc.

I think with sounds like that they actually just fuck about with anything and throw it together and hope they get a big sound. Most the time I've made harder sounds they've been accidental. So really. It could be anything. Just throw everything you got at it and tweak!

Yeah guess so man, I do that usually with all my basses too :L but I just wondered if anyone has actually got a similar sounding bass like that, and wanna give some tips on how to.

ive been working at it. not quite there but i have formulated my own sound from my trials. first get a solid wobble.
span it a couple octaves and make the midrange heavy otherwise when you process it its going to be really thin.
then what makes it thick is the chorus
there are like 8 voices at least.
then do a nother track similar underneath, pan it and eq it, same as the first track.
eq,compress,filter, filter. repeat.

i used Abletons own operator along with some native effects bit crusher, saturator, EQ (notch), Vinyl distortion, dynamic tube and a compressor on the end. and then dropped in camel phat and just tweaking the reese bass preset..

Chasing Shadows use a LOT of reese probably resampled with Kontakt. Have a search for some decent Reeses online (it is worth it), chuck em in Kontakt and fuck about with wave looping and LFOs within there.
