Mystikal Roots: New Label pushing out Reggae Dubstep
Posted: Tue Jan 04, 2011 4:42 pm
For those that listen to my show on SUB FM or see me play out live will fully know about the sound I am pushing out. Very frequently I see on the DSF, people are requesting to find out more about producers who are merging reggae and dubstep together and I feel there is not enough exposure for these artists and definitely not enough tracks on the scene so I decided to set up this label to furthermore add to the ever growing community of dub and dubstep enthusiasts alike.
Hopefully this label will not only educate the people showing them that the genre DUB is by no means the same as DUBSTEP and hopefully this will start a new trend for artists to start experimenting more with their music and not follow the general conventions of a typical genre.
MYSTIKAL ROOTS
MR001: 'Youth Man EP' by Version Big-fi

For our debut release, we see Version Big-fi step up to the plate and and provide us with a three track EP entitled 'Youth Man'. The track 'Youth Man' which features the vocals of Darius is a play on the new sound of 'Future Dub', something we aim to promote in 2011. They have also included Youth Man in dub which will be appreciated by the more dub and experimental heads. On the B-side we have 'Mash Up The Nation' which again is vocal led by Darius and is accompanied by a heavy bass....just for good measures.
