Cheers Murky, not sure if that 'Pastry Riddim' is Cymatic, tbh. I think it's Ruckspin, don't know what happened with the naming of it...

I'd be excited to see a Cymatic album emerge, I think their sound would translate well to a long-player. As for
We don't want to sound like anyone or be influenced by anyone.
I get the idea of saying "we don't want to sound like anyone", and obviously it's really healthy to go in your own direction, but I don't really get the concept of not being influenced by anyone. Surely everything that you've heard gets thrown into one melting pot, then you come out with your own sound, but you've still been influenced?

Does anyone know where the Electric Church sample comes from?

Easy nclpad,
a Cymatic album is on the horizon, this mix is really just a taster of where we are at at the moment, and yes, a long player is right up our street as there is so much we wish to 'say' musically. So biggups for appreciating this sound has depth and a lot of explaining of itself to do ;)

I agree with your objection to being 'uninfluenced' - but surely this is just a manifestation of the perennial struggle to be original...you cannot truly hide your influences - but if I said I was influenced by Sepultura (amongst many other people of different genres), would that alter your appreciation of the music? Can you hear them in QS music, or Cymatic music, or is it all so melted down in the pot that it is no longer a discernible influence? Just a thought. I think what Chris meant was that he doesn't want to be identified as the latest in a long line of people seen to be bandwagon jumping... Cymatic is so far beyond the nomenclature as to be 'non-specific-downtempo' music.

In answer to your final question: yes, its Jimi Hendrix, being interviewed in the sixties...
