Career moves...fresh out of college

You guys straight out of college/uni and those that have been in our position, what was your tactics for picking up employment in your field right out of college? I graduated in December and honestly wasn't sure if I made it out alive 'til a couple weeks ago. About 15 resumes behind me I've heard from one place that i'm not 100% sure about working for, for a couple reasons. I'm in a technical field, but its apparently one of the fastest growing fields in the US.

I'm trying to move back home to Orlando which is one reason for not being 100% on following up on the position here in Mississippi, i'm not trying to stay here longer than I have to. Any of you that have graduated and gotten out of your town quickly...what was your method, and how did you come about employment quickly? Did you have to hold up a job doing BS work or were you able to find employment in your field?

Get a reasonable job, do a 5 year stint, leave and find a better job.

...Good luck.

Never did it before because I saw other dealers around me have unstable incomes, you have to be good at getting weed to the person before they call another dealer they know who has the same quality shit as you. You sleep to long, you lose his money. You rip him off, you lose a client, too much bad rep and you're out of business.

use your connections, networking is what got me on the ball... make lots of friends and dont burn any bridges.

always stay active, when you're not working, keep doing what you do even if it's for free... research any new developments online

oh and learn how to properly recognize and review good beer, comes in handy when you have business partners :W:

I'm in GIS, geospatial...or geographic information sciences. I'm trying to get to Minneapolis or Orlando mostly, but nothing is hiring entry-level and I apply everywhere that wants 2 years or a Masters. I'm starting to look at jobs outside my field even though I would love to be in my field of study...it's the one thing I understand the majority of and enjoy studying/learning.
