Read as much as you possibly can on this forum, then ask questions - you'll be better off, we'll be happy - everyone wins!

How refreshing! A new producer who actually wants to learn how to write music properly

welcome aboard mate. Check out this link, I haven't even worked my way through all of it yet but for people new to composing music it is a MUST read.

Also the thread wub linked you to has pretty much all the information you could ever want or need starting out in the world of production, it can sometimes be hard to know where to look first so I'll help you out a bit there too by saying this is probably the most important thread ever made on this forum
http://www.dubstepforum.com/this-thread ... 74832.html It's VERY long and theres a lot of general chit chat you have to wade through but pay special attention to the posts made by a guy called 'macc' and you will have a masterclass in properly constructing a track.

that ravenspiral guy is an absolute hero, that must of taken him ages. Ive never got all the way through it, but just noticed a bit at the end whedre he tries to qualitatively describe every chord progression! ridiculous! but useful!
