hi, i hope you guys could give me an advise? i tried to figure out how this bass/wobble/synth was made by datsik? first i thought its a special waveform with a volume curve or stepper (like in massive). then i thought it could also be an arpeggiator because its like breakbeat rhythm in there. and now i'm a little confused..
it would be amazing if someone could help me out and share his knowledge and i use massive or fm8.
props from germany

I don't know for sure if it was made in massive but none of it seems outside of the performer/stepper's capabilities

yh he uses massive but that robotic lfo is hard to do. maybee a combination of different waveforms? or even chopped audio

hmm thanks to honey-d and grumblex, but any suggestions about the modulation?

Hey there mate !
I've noticed a couple of months ago that Datsik uses a loooottt of ringshifter action in his productions (and a lot of tweaking via resampling like he always said). Especially the one present in Logic. Adjusting the width of the stereo image and the feedback while putting the dry/wet to 50% might give something similar to this and playing with the frequency knob. To give that really metallic sort of sound I'm guessing he's using a pretty fast delay on it, same as in the VIP of Gecko. Hope that helps.

well I'm no expert on this but my opinion about that rhythm: I think it's just automated cutoff frequency, then bounced with different LFO-rates and arranged as a melody... There's really no mystery behind that rhythm... I don't think there's any arpeggio in there. Maybe a sweeping eq or HP filter, maybe even a formant filter going from a lower vowel (o, u) to a higher one (e,i,a) in time with the wobble. Maybe this should be in the "help me make this sound" thread. Hope I could be of any help

^ this.
There's nothing special about the rhythm and there is no doubt just a lot of manually created automation in it.
