Kromestar - Jabber Jawz (one gun salute)

Post by joeki » Mon Jan 31, 2011 11:28 am

So, Kromestar has always made decent tear-out tunes, next to of course his deeper material such as the forthcoming album, much in the vein of Coki and the likes. It's always been appreciated a cross the spectrum. Now he's come up with this.
The drum patterns are ok, the rest is absolutely cringe-worthy. For all the people 'hating' on certain stretches of the sound, I'll slap Kromestar on the fingers for this one. B-side is funny though, Rave-wobbles from yesteryear hehe. I like that one but doesn't come even close to the original.

Please don't tell me you are a fan of the Datsik style multiple kicks?
it is Kromestar's hats that make his drums so jump-upy... think he uses triplets or something. Fucking love Jabberjawz! Though might be preferring Straight Error and Circles now.

Yeah I prefer those two, I'm just not a fan at all of the 'warped' vocals. It reminds me of brostep. Plus, it's a little bit too typical of a Kromestar riddim, I'd go so far as to say almost cliché.

Can see it go of on the dance floor, but really not for me :) .

If that is cliché then what are all the tracks from skream,benga,distance..? Everyone just has their own unique style, especially Krome (imo)

Again, people should read an entire post and not focus on just one line.
You make it out as if I'm saying all Kromestar tunes are the same, which I from the beginning stated they weren't (hence the reference to his forthcoming album). I'm sorry that you like this track and I don't, but it isn't a very inspired track now is it? I don't see any rational way of saying this is an inventive tune. I'm saying I can clearly see it work in the dance floor, but it's a tried and tested formula. And it's not something I'm jumping hoops for. The drum patterns (approved) are in a Kromestar fashion, I don't like the vocal manipulations and I explained why above...
A fairly 'objective' way of conveying a subjective opinion to the board.

Oh, and sure Distance is comparable. But if my personal opinion was to be asked I'd say this :
I'm sure you know he has a bunch of great tracks at 170 bpm's. He can go just as deep as anybody (Beyond, Fallen, Delight) and still produce bangers in a typical style on chestplate. if my personal opinion was to be asked, I'd call him one of the more versatile producers in the scene right now.

Don't be offended just because someone doesn't like one Kromestar tune and calls it cliché. He's got plenty of good stuff coming out that we CAN both enjoy.
Peace,
J.

I'm glad someone else was a bit iffy about this one. I love 90% of Kromestar tunes but this one just didn't really do it for me. I love Badman & Badman VIP but this one just seems a bit flat compared to the previous to incarnations and Jabber Jawz just felt a but uninspired. Haven't made up my mind if I'll bag this one or not yet.

Big ups Kromestar anyway. Badman producer, just this one in particular doesn't grab me.

I'm pretty amazed at this release too! Why would someone talented enough to produce a track like

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF9qAAj8 ... re=related

go and put a release like this out? In my opinion this release is pretty horrendous

There is no irony. Take a dictionary and look its meaning up.
I may talk much but at least what I say is correct. You managed to fuck up with just one line. On topic please.
