NYC needs more dubstep

Everyone in the city knows this. Well promoted dubstep nights are filled to capacity. We need more... I got a location in the Lower east side on First less than a block from the F train who wants to have a Dubstep night either every thursday or every other thursday depending on the draw. Any dj's and producers that want to try and get something going it's unpaid but you can probably negotiate for a percentage of the door if you have an over 21 following. Possible paid gig if it takes off and the bar is making money... u know how it goes. Post up your soundcloud, gimme an idea of your setup also and we'll see if we can get something going.

how a city like minneapolis can have a hugely successful dubstep scene with weeklies and huge headliners in monthly and NYC doesn't have shit going on regularly is beyond me....

(unless there is a ton of stuff going on that im unaware of.....)

Good luck. That said, imo, if sound system isn't priority #1, then don't throw parties just to throw parties. Lord knows, we have enough shitty soundsystem nights already in this city. This music needs to be moving air on the dancefloor. Subs have to be rattling everything.

huh?

Twisup/Bass Fueled Mischief/the Darkroom/Trouble & Bass/Konkrete Jungle/Blessup Thursdays/Urban Cabaret

and then in parallels, there's the Bunker & Deep Space.

lest we forget WNYU, East Village Radio & WNYC on the air.

and then on a larger scale, Unsound festival coming up, hardFEST 4x/year, electric zoo and other potential festivals (APW 2008, Ultra NYC, etc)

the point is, you NEED subs. if you don't have subs, the music will sound like shit. end of story. jungle, dubstep, any kind of bass music in general, if there aren't subs, it sounds like shit. true you don't have to blow the roof off, but there needs to be subs. sorry to be repetitive it's just not necessary

also, im not saying you shouldn't start your own party, but there is absolutely no shortage of parties. stuff that doesnt get promoted, random loft parties, hipster shit that you won't find out unless you follow someone on twitter or some shit. there is events all the time, on random nights, that pull people. Falty DL/ikonika/Jakwob show didnt even get posted on here and there's a few hundred people. sick spot too

There's plenty of JBL SRX gear to hire over in NY.... go and get yourself 8x JBL SRX728 subs and 4 JBL SRX725 midtops then sit back and enjoy as your rattle your punters ;)

stuff like BLESS UP is out there and we got TILT SHIFT going on every thursdays but heads need to come out and support local acts tis all. We've already had great acts like LIONDUB, Jordan Rothlein, Pandaia, Dash EXP, and resident Dj's BOOKZ (first city records) Max Echo (Full Spectrum/konkrete jungle) and Myself. Just cause their isnt a big name on the bill, it doesnt mean it lacks. NYC has some really sick up and coming talent. people just need to support its Dubstep scene all around.

We took the month of Feb off for some sound readjustment but will be back in March with heads like Brenmar and JOE NICE!!!!
details will be up in the next few days. Let's see if this does anything for ya ;)

so true. that new venue inside hudson hotel is sick!!!. i was onstage with faltydl, and the subs were so loud that we could barely have a conversation. if you want a benchmark for a subbass soundsystem built to handle dubstep properly in NYC, its good units /hudson hotel right now. hands down. i was blown away.
