Does this make me a bastard?

Right,

She said to me tonight that she enters every relationship she gets into as a serious one, I say that's a bit daft. She kicks up a fuss and asks if I am not serious about us, I point out we've been together six months (where she corrected me and said 8 months) and I don't enter relationships as if the girl is 'the one'. I then go on to explain that when I go out with a girl it's because: I get on well with her, I find her sexually attractive, I enjoy their company, the regular sex, and the other fluffy stuff.

I the relationship takes off whilst we're going out so be it, good for us, - she was the one as much as I was, we both scored! However if it doesn't - no harm done and we still had a good time together. Carpe Diem and all that, seize the day because it's gone tomorrow. Clichéd as feck but having had cancer, it's the way I look at life now, live life for the moment and all that jazz. If it doesn't work out in three weeks or three years, it's sad but it's not the end of your life and don't go putting your life on hold by looking for 'the one' because it doesn't happen that way. You have to taste a bit of everything to find what you really like.

Anyhoo...... she reckons that's a complete bastards way to treat people and goes as far to say I have used all my previous girlfriends (yeah including a 7 year relationship, eh?!).

And do you know what the annoying thing is? All this became about because I said I'd rather watch my family be skinned alive than watch Marley and Me again. KA-FUCKING-BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Oh well, 48 hours to Valentine's Day.

Proper pissed off now, was having a nice chilled night.

HAHAHA!!!!

Sounds like a typical woman.

I swear the shit that gets kicked up from stupid remarks such as something like: "I rather skin my family alive then watch marley and me", or one of my situations,

"I don't have many fries and I haven't eaten much today so please leave the last few for me." which led to "OH WHAT!!!??? YOUR SAYING I EAT TOO MUCH???" which led to a furious car ride, yelling at eachother:

"Do you want a fry?"

"No"

"Okay"

"Because I will eat them all"

...repeat till 5 minutes later

"TAKE THE FUCKING FRY!!!!"

"I DONT WANT ANY!!!"

"I'M NOT GOING TO BEG YOU TO EAT THE FRIES!!!!! IF YOU DON'T WANT ONE THEN STOP COMPLANING!!!""

no that don't make you a bastard.

maybe a little bit silly. you should of told her what she wanted to hear never tell the truth if it will piss her off. it's not worth it

you should save your true feelings when you want to get rid of her. tell her you never liked her and just wanted her pussy and you was just waiting for something better to come along. sit back and watch her go crazy. laugh at her to make her go crazier. if you got any naked pics or any other dirt on her tell her your going to tell everyone.

if i was you i would go tell that you did not mean that and you dont like talking about your true feelings and that she has always been the one and you dont like to talk your feelings.

you can thank me later after the make up sex.

Shes Jailbait and you're old enough to be her dad.

Not the first time we've heard that on this forum.

To be honest yeah, never go out with jailbait. Simple as.

Secondly, I don't think either of you are right. 6 months into a relationship, I'd call that fairly serious. That's a lot of time for someone to devote to being with someone and to just say...'I am having a bit of fun, if we break up then so be it' would piss any girl off regardless of age, experience or however long you've been going out.

To be fair, I'll probably side with you if I had too as Marley and Me is pretty bad choice for repeat viewing but you got to understand that the way you live your life isn't the same as the way others live theres, especially if they're only young!

I couldn't even watch Marley and Me once so I reckon your totally justified.

You could have made your point a bit more gently I guess though

Nah, I don't agree. Six months is hardly any time at all, not when you've been in a LTR, plus I have been in similar relationships in the past and that agreement has been pretty much the unwritten agreement. The girl that first took me to FWD and introduced me to Ikonika was just a fling, we went together for a few months and if anything happened so be it! I don't think it is exclusively a female or an age thing, I just think it's more to do with experience, the more people you go out with the more you become detached. There isn't a person on this forum who has not mistaken infatuation for love.
the way you live your life isn't the same as the way others live theres, especially if they're only young!
Very fair and salient point but you should also accept people for what they are, warts and all. IMO it's a bad relationship if you're saying, "Oh I love her / him, it's just I wish he'd change......" and in my previous role you'd hear the same line from people who were the victims of domestic abuse (physical and emotional). One thing that I did learn there is you accept people how they are or it builds up resentment and before you know it you could be sat in front of someone like me or packing your bags.
