After a massive launch party featuring Pitchfork’s 2010 dj of the year (Oneman)Too Much! & Scattermusic are back once again to give you the second installment of what will be seen as one of the most forward thinking boundary pushing night in regards to UK Bass music in Melbourne. This time we will be featuring Night Slug extraordinaire Mosca.
As Mosca, Tom Reid has made some of the most interesting dubstep-not-dubstep over the course of this year following his inclusion on the bass music compilation 'Elevator Music Vol. 1' and his ‘Square One’ EP on the Night Slugs imprint. Since then he’s remixed high profile artists like Four Tet and Foals, taking his unique horn heavy approach down fresh and interesting routes, providing some of the standout mixes of those singles.
The best thing about Mosca’s discography so far is that none of these tunes sound particularly alike; whereas many producers are happy to make their name with a distinctive sound and then milk it for all its worth, Mosca’s already proved hard to pin down after a year on the radar.
As always supports are
Same O, Scattermish, David Bass, Mat Cant & Lewis Cancut.
