quite a lot of it is forgettable except for the sensational 'is this grimey enough?'

I'm feeling this a lot. I'm starting 2 appreciate Kano 4 being an overall artist then a grime artist.
although, 'is this grimey enough' and 'fucking with the team' smash it differently. even ma grime disliking brother likes da 2nd 1

hmmm not really liking this at all.
'Is this grimey enough' isn't actually grimey enough and the only other tune i particularly rate on it is 'buss it up' and the version on the mixtapes not as good as the one that came out on vinyl a few months back.
plus theres far too many hip hoppy tunes for my taste

Not heard this as yet, will cop it and give my thoughts on the whole thing. Buss it up has been a firm fav of mine for a while, love Vibes Cartel production.

bus it up is pretty fuckin great.
but (dancehall nerd alert) the production is by Don Corleone. Vybz just rides it with Kano.
Had a few more listens to this and it's growing on me a little bit. And i agree it could be grimier but is it grimey enough still does it for me.
going to be interesting this year with albums due from all the major players. kano really does have to step up his game and come through with something special if he's going to be maintain his status and any street credibility whatsoever.

I've said this before elsewhere and I'll say it again now:
Kano baffles me because he fronts like he "left the scene" to go and achieve bigger and better things - but man isn't mainstream at all.
I doubt he sold very many copies of Home Sweet Home. Nowhere near as close to what Dizzee is/was selling.
To me it seems like Kano decided to make hip hop, got a little record deal, went on Westwood, and now he is delusionally referring to that as going "mainstream". Really, he ain't gone anywhere.
He is in the new Def Jam game though.
