Facebook has proper pissed my off now, the fan page for The Secret Lemon Project is the main way that I interact with fans, it's pretty much the main way people hear our music. I went to post on it today and suddenly noticed that I wasn't an admin anymore, I got in touch with the other 2 admins to see if one had kicked my out "for a laugh" and neither had and when we went to check the page just vanished, it's just gone, gone from the the searches and when you got to the page address you end up back at your facebook home page...proper fucked me over and pissed me off!

Hopefully they actually do something about it. Most of the time their customer service is a joke.

well their support isn't a very funny joke.

I really hope if comes back cos that where most of our promotion is done and got some really big stuff coming up soon.

Not sure if this is your problem or not, but there's a major difference between a user profile and a fan page on Facebook. User profiles are only for people, fan pages are for other things (bands, companies, brands, etc.). If you're using a user profile for something that isn't an individual person then Facebook will take it down. I work in a digital ad agency and Facebook makes us jump through fucking hoops just to work with them, use their logo, etc.

One of the reasons having your own website is advantageous. Yeah people would actually have to leave the womb of internet land to get to you, but no one is going to dick around w/ your shit.

Thats rough though SLP, Ive had alot of trouble with bookface tach support to for what its worth, they respond faster if you are registered with them through your mobile.

Its pissing me off lately aswell. Whenever i click on a profile it sometimes closes the page and other tabs i have open. Seriously jarring to say the least! Had groups deleted by them before etc. Such a pain adding everyone again

It's not a personal profile, this was a proper fan page and is our main outlet for the music

Have your own website is all well and got but it means people have to check it and the simple fact is people are to lazy or don't remember to do that when facebook shoves everythign they want straight into their faces.

well, it's a free service that millions (billions?) of people are locked in to, all freakin day. what do you expect?

Facebook is always trying to fix things that weren't broken in the first place inevitably making it worse for everyone...

My profile is abz savoryaudio. They never gave me shit. I suppose I could be reported tho. I had something like this happen with a group I had. I mysteriously got dropped as the admin and I was the only one so it just ended up lost in space. I had to just start another one. Their help is weak sauce. If you don't hear back I'd just start another one. Facebook is a bit to big for their britches. With all the money they are making you would think they could add some employees to deal with this shit. I'd put my application in!

Well it's still not back so maybe time to start thinking about a new page, bloody annoying cos it's taken a long time to build up that list of fans.
