Slime is back with it’s biggest release to date. Last year saw Submerse rise through the rank and file of the underground to become one of it’s most exciting new stars. His debut release for the label ‘Streams’ proved the hype around future garage was no fluke - with a soulful, melancholy style that was all his own, Submerse has astounded with every new release. It’s been long overdue that he return to Slime, and this time he’s brought his Night Audio compatriot Resketch to deliver a truly incredible EP of music that will make your heart soar.
‘Distance’ is a garage anthem in the making, featuring the beautiful vocal talents of Rachel Anne Coulter. Building around a devestatingly simple piano line, her spellbinding whisper of ‘pleasure is my weakness’ catapults this track into the emotional stratosphere. With a seriously robust 4x4 kick driving the track home, this will have ravers everywhere calling for the reload.
‘Rena’ extrapolates the emotional resonance of the former track to deliver a truly essential future garage gem. Eastern-infused strings mix with sensual female vocals and the effect is truly epic - a cinematic beauty in crystal-clear widescreen.
‘Never Again’ simmers with a melancholy tension that is a perfect soundtrack to coming down in the first light of a new day. Breathed vocals and swirling synths cast you away onto an ocean of blissful sounds. A truly beautiful piece of music.
‘Freefall’ sees Resketch take the reins for a progressive take on the future garage sound. Pulsating bass underpins a track of high invention, with modulating percussion and playful ambient sounds constantly suprising and delighting the listener.
‘Tides Of Change’ combines the raw passion of UK Funky and the future Garage style with really explosive results. Subtle in it’s approach but absolutely devestating on the dancefloor, this has secret weapon written all over it for forward-thinking DJs everywhere.
For the first of two amazing remixes Slime welcomes it’s newest signing Archie Pelago to take on ‘Rena’ with an astonishing adaptation of the core track into one composed with live instruments. A achingly beautiful combination of jazz, garage, house and vibrant melodies that will take your breath away - and prepare you for their own debut EP on Slime later in the year.
Finally Resketch takes the lead track ‘Distance’ and crafts an incredible anthem in it’s own right with a hypnotic house groove that is a guaranteed floor filler.
